Portland Winterhawks Tickets

Just an announcement that Miss Jaques has a friend who would like to donate some Winterhawks tickets to families here at Sexton Mountain.   The tickets are for a game on Monday February 20th at 3:00.  This is Presidents Day so there is no school.   If you would like to get some of these tickets, please contact Miss Jaques as soon as possible.  We have a link to her classroom blog on the left side of our blog here.

Homework

This week's homework is now up and ready for you to download.  The kids are doing great with their hurricane proof houses.  We've had several kids build at home and bring in, and they are all working great in their groups in the classroom.  We have a lot of great imaginations and it is really showing.

Lit Project

The new lit project is now up on the blog.  They have 3 weeks for this, it will be due on February 24th.

Disasters!!!

We have started our World Tour.  We are traveling the world studying natural disasters.  We have already taken a look at tornadoes and now we are getting into hurricanes.  The kids have had a lot of fun discovering facts and information about natural disasters.  Here are a few pictures of our disaster wall showing our class tornado poster as well as our world map showing where these disasters can take place.
