Homework

The new writing and math homework is up and ready for download.  I have also posted the new lit project which is due in 2 weeks.  The trivia questions are really stumping everyone.  I gave them the answer to one of them.  Becky Douvris was the one to walk a marathon in Alaska.  Now they just need to find the other one :)

Trivia

So far, we have no correct answers to the question.  These questions REQUIRE you to talk to different staff members around the school to find out the answer.  As I said, you MUST have additional details from that person to list with your answer.  No random guesses.  You must find the person and get more information from them and put that information into your comment.  If you do not do that, you will not be correct (even if you happen to guess the right person).  YOU MUST TALK TO THE PERSON AND GET DETAILS!!!

Trivia Question, WOW

The first trivia question was answered in no time!  The answer was a 400 year long drought in the Atacama Desert of Chili.  Since that one went so quickly, I will post another one right now.  This one is about one of our staff members here at Sexton Mountain.  Your answer must include some additional facts about the event for the person (this way there is no just throwing guesses up until you hit the right person :)

This person once walked a full marathon  in Fairbanks, Alaska.

and one more, about a different staff member.

This person participated in a hostage training for Tualatin Valley Fire Department.

When you have figured out who it is for either of these questions, click the comment button for this post and leave your answer.

Trivia Question

The time is here!  I am starting my blog trivia question contest (thank you Mrs. Morgan for this wonderful suggestion).  I will start posting a trivia question on random days and random times and the first student who posts a comment (answering the question correctly) will win 5 Morgan Bucks.  If you are not the first to post, please post anyways.  You have no idea if the previous answer is indeed the correct answer.  Some questions you will be able to find answers on the internet, while others may require you to talk to different teachers and staff.  Parents, you may assist your children, but this is a learning experience for them.  Please allow them to do a majority of the work.  Since we are studying droughts, our first question will be related to that.

Where and when was the longest drought in world history?

When you have an answer, post a comment to this post.
